Karin Amador (She/Her/Ella)
MS, LPC-Associate, NCC
Hello and welcome!
I understand that finding the right therapist can be a daunting task, but I’m here to help make the process easier for you. My name is Karin (She/Her/Ella), and I’m a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Jennifer Buffalo, MA, LPC-S, LMFT. With a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from A&M University-Central Texas and a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from UT Austin, I specialize in helping women and adolescents navigate life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem issues, depression, and stress.
As a first-generation Latina, I am committed to helping BIPOC access therapy. I support my clients in navigating societal pressures, generational trauma, relationship difficulties, and perfectionism. I believe that by addressing these challenges, clients can take steps toward healing and empowerment while honoring their unique backgrounds.
My approach to therapy is integrative, utilizing Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help my clients achieve their personal goals. I also incorporate mindfulness, self-compassion, psychoeducation, and art to support my clients in building self-awareness, healthy boundaries, and sustainable coping skills. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental space where you can feel affirmed while exploring the way you think and feel, understanding how you experience life, and nurturing your relationships.
When I am not wearing my therapist hat, you can find me engaging in my favorite form of self-care, drinking a cup of tea with my massive Great Pyrenees, goofy Labrador, and sassy Shih Zu.
I’m passionate about helping you address the barriers hindering your personal growth and working collaboratively towards achieving a fulfilling life. If you think I could be a good fit for you, I invite you to contact me for a complimentary 30-minute consultation. Let’s begin this journey of self-discovery together and work towards managing what feels unmanageable.
