A Message From Our Founder
My name is Jennifer Williams Buffalo and I am the founder of Luminary Counseling, PLLC. I hold 2 licenses in the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I am also a board approved clinical supervisor for LPC Associates (LPC-S). I am a certified teacher in the Right Use of Power by the Right Use of Power Institute.
I understand from first-hand experience how hard it can be to find a therapist and how completely overwhelming the process can be. My aim is to help streamline the process by offering a free 30-minute consultation. I believe that there are things you simply cannot learn about a therapist from a website or a phone call, and I do not think you should have to pay to determine whether or not you feel comfortable in our offices.

The number one piece of advice I'd like to offer as you look to find a therapist is simply this: look for a counselor that you believe you will feel comfortable talking to. It is not necessary that you feel an instant connection, but ask yourself,"Is this someone I will be able to open up to and feel heard by?" Specializations and expertise, while extremely important, come second to your ability to be open and honest with your therapist.
